WE135 - Managing the Unexpected Before, During and After Pavement Construction

Wednesday, January 22 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM | Room N223, North Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center « Back

NEW FOR 2014  This seminar will focus on case histories from recently constructed projects where problems arose either during or soon after construction.  The problems will be divided into design, specification, materials, placement conditions or construction methods.  Identifying the problem, what steps can be employed to “fix it” and how to avoid similar issues in the future will be discussed.  Note that this is not a typical troubleshooting seminar but shows how partnering between the agency and their representative and the contractor can overcome some major job site issues.

  1. Develop a checklist of critical activities that are common to all paving projects
  2. Identify typical problems related to paving operations and concrete production
  3. Determine suitable corrective measures for problems common to most paving operations
  4. Develop “out-of-the-box” strategies to correct common pavement deficiencies
