NEW FOR 2014  The use of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) is growing rapidly. With tight budgets cities throughout the country are looking for more economical and reliable ways to build and rebuild their pavement infrastructure. Industrial facilities are also looking for economical long-term solutions for their heavy-duty pavement needs. RCCs low cost, speed of construction, early loading capability and high strength make it an ideal pavement for industrial facilities as well as local streets and roads. Basic principles of RCC including mix design and construction practices as well as a comprehensive discussion of test strips will be covered.

  1. Recognize the various applications, benefits and limitations of RCC pavements
  2. Determine the appropriate steps to follow in developing a mix design
  3. Identify the six most important factors in any successful RCC project
  4. Determine the appropriate steps and requirements for designing and constructing an RCC test strip
