Hardened properties of concrete such as strength and volume stability will be the focus of this last session in a four-part series introducing basic concrete technology. Common problems in these areas will also be addressed. The seminar concludes with a discussion of the most significant problems associated with the durability of concrete. NOTE: This series is intended to introduce the basics of good concrete practice to individuals who are new to the concrete industry.
- Describe the most commonly used hardened properties of concrete and how each is measured
- Examine the common problems associated with hardened concrete properties and the appropriate corrective measures
- Identify the most frequent causes of concrete durability problems
- Determine appropriate measures to counteract causes of lack of durability
